Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
My Mom and Dad bought a new van this month. I helped them pick it out at the LE auto centre. I traveled with my family in our new van to LaJara to attend Brandon and Chera’s wedding reception. I had fun running around and playing with Cade and Nathan. In the middle of this month I said goodbye to my house in Lincoln and drove with my Family to Denver. My mom dropped my dad off and then we picked up Aunt Stephanie and drove to LaJara. On the way there one of the back tires on the van blew out so my mom pulled over and waited for somebody to stop and help us. I had to sit on the side of the road on top of the cooler because the red ants kept trying to bite me. It was hot and I didn’t like it.
When we finally made it to LaJara I got to go to the celebration in Manassa. I really liked sitting on the side of the road watchin all of the floats go by and getting all of the candy. After the parade I got to watch Motorcycles race and jump, they went fast. Then that night I got to go with Mom, Stephanie and Heath to watch the demolition derby where cars ran into each other and got smashed. Then after that I got to watch fireworks. While I was in LaJara I also got to ride one of Grandpa’s horses.
My mom and Dad left Nathan, Alyssa, and me with Grandma and Grandpa in LaJara while they went back to Lincoln and packed up all of our stuff and took it to Green River. While they were gone Grandma Kaye took us to the McGinnis family reunion. When we were driving to Green River from LaJara I saw a stop sign and I said, “That sign say’s stop.”

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I traveled to Utah with Mom and Dad. We went to Joes Valley where I got to go fishing with Grandpa. I showed Grandpa that I am a natural fisherman. I caught three fish all by myself without Grandpa’s help. On the way back to the cabin after we got done fishing I said to Grandpa, “Don’t drive like my mother.” My mom was riding in the very back of the truck so she didn’t hear me say it. While I was in Utah I also got to see my Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Dwight when they were on their way home from Yellowstone.
When we were back in Nebraska I went to the Blue Ribbon Fair at Pioneers Park with my family. I got to play lots of fun games and get prizes. That same day I also got to go to the Campbell’s Nursery with the Bryan LGH kids club. They gave me a trowel and spade and the people at the nursery let me plant lots of plants in a pot and take them home. Then we got a tour of the nursery.

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I love to ride my bike and I ride it whenever my parents will let me. The first thing I ask my Mom in the morning is if I can ride my bike and the last thing I ask before I go to bed is if I can ride my bike. I get to ride my bike when we go on picnics. We have a special picnic spot where we eat and then Mom and Dad let us ride our bikes around on the tennis court while they sit on the blanket and watch us. One day we laid on the blankets with Mom and looked up at the clouds and saw funny shapes.
Dad graduated from law school this month. I got to watch him walk at graduation. Grandma Kaye, Grandpa Dwight, Uncle Jace and Aunt Mandi came out to watch him walk and visit me. My Aunt Mandi brought me a Sponge Bob baseball glove and a Sponge Bob baseball. Nathan drew a face on my baseball.
My Mom and Dad finally figured out how to make me go poop in the potty. They told me that I can only ride my bike if I poop in the potty. And if I poop in my pants I get my bike taken away. I haven’t pooped in my pants ever since they told me that.
It was warm enough one day to get out the Slip ‘n Slide and the pool. Dad slid me on my bottom and belly down the Slip ‘n Slide and I cried. But I did have fun sliding down the slide into the pool.
I had to go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned this month. I didn’t have any cavities so I didn’t have to go back and the dentist gave me a space man toothbrush.
When I wake up in the morning I also wake up Alyssa and we go down to the stairs together to wake up Mom to get us breakfast. I tell Alyssa, “get up, get up” until she gets up and comes with me. Sometimes, we will stay upstairs and jump on the beds and laugh or just play until Mom comes to get us.
While mom and I were sitting in the living room we saw a squirrel jump on the air conditioner so we hit the window and scared it off. Then we looked on the air conditioner and saw a puddle of yellow and Mom told me that we scared the pee out of it and I laughed.
I like to say the prayers and one night while I was saying the prayer I made sure that I blessed everything including the underwear and the diapers

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
On the 2nd of this month, Grandpa drove us all back to Green River. Daddy had to stay in Lincoln because he still had school. While we were driving, we saw a big cloud in front of us that looked scary. We weren’t sure which way the clouds were blowing. When we got under it, we felt like it was going to blow us off the road because the winds were so strong. A lot of cars pulled over but we kept going. We even saw two trucks that had been blown off the road and onto their sides. We were just glad it wasn’t us.
When we got back to Utah, we went to Joes Valley where we met Hunter and Joseph. We had fun playing in the mountains and driving our little push cars down the dirt road. That night, Jeremy built us a fire and we had tinfoil dinners and roasted giant marshmallows that Great Grandma Luke gave us.
The next day, we drove to Salt Lake and celebrated Grandpa Luke’s birthday in a park. Grandpa took us to play on a Frisbee golf course. While we were playing, the Easter Bunny hid some eggs for us to find. We had fun finding them.
The next weekend I got to go to Salt Lake again, so I got to play with Hunter and Joseph again. After playing with them, Grandpa drove us to Park City where we stayed in the Miners Inn. It was a fancy motel and I got to go swimming while I was there. I loved it and didn’t want to get out. Grandma even showed me how to blow bubbles in the water.
We went to Hunter and Joseph’s house, and while I was there, I got sick and threw up. I spent the whole day sleeping on the kitchen floor while my mom made cheesecakes for Amy’s wedding reception.
On Amy’s wedding day, I got to see the Salt Lake Temple where I waited outside for Amy to get married. Amy bought me a green shirt and tie to wear with some dress pants. While I waited, I had fun running around and playing with Hunter and Joseph. I also saw a celebrity, Donny Osmond, who was there waiting for somebody he knew to come out of the temple. At Amy’s reception that night I had fun running around with Hunter, Joseph, Jason, and Adam.
On the Monday after Amy’s wedding, I rode the train with Mom, Nathan, and Alyssa back to Lincoln. It was a longer trip than usual because the train signals had problems along the way and we ran in to bad weather in Nebraska. We finally made it back where Daddy was waiting to see us.
I am getting better at going pee and poop in the potty but I still sometimes go in my pants. While I was taking a bath with Alyssa this month, I noticed that she didn’t have a peepee so I told my mom, “Alyssa doesn’t have a peepee, her peepee broke off, baby girls don’t have peepee’s.

March 2007

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I went to my Uncle Brandon’s missionary homecoming in La Jara this month. I had fun visiting my Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Dwight and playing with my cousins. Then my Daddy drove us to Grand Junction where my Grandma and Grandpa Luke picked us up and took us to Green River. My Dad had to stay in Grand Junction for job interviews before driving back to Lincoln. While in Utah, I saw the Manti Temple where I waited outside for my Uncle Jason to get married to Larissa. Then I went to Orangeville to their reception.
While in Green River Grandpa took us golfing. I had fun golfing with my new golf clubs that I got for Christmas. I even hit the ball a few times.
I started potty training this month. I go pee in the toilet but I don’t like to go poop.
At the end of this month Grandma and Grandpa Luke drove us to Lincoln to visit Daddy and to take some of our stuff back to Green River so that we would have it closer to where we want to move. While Grandma and Grandpa were in Lincoln, everybody but Grandpa went to the Children’s museum. I had fun playing in the museum with Nathan and Alyssa. We also had an early Easter with Daddy in Lincoln. I had fun finding all of the eggs. The Easter Bunny also brought me a Shake-n-go race car.

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
For Valentine’s Day, we had a party at playdate. I got to decorate a sugar cookie and eat it and then I got to deliver my valentines to all of my friends. They gave me a lot back so I was excited to get all of the candy. I love to eat candy.

January 2007

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
For the start of 2007 I was in Green River, Utah at my Grandma and Grandpa Luke’s house. We had a party with my cousins. Then we went up to Salt Lake where my Aunt Amy’s roommate babysat me while my mom and Dad went to the temple with Grandma and Grandpa Luke, Amy, Brooks, Jeremy, Adam, Nadine, Rebecca, Justin, and Jason.
Then we drove back to Denver where we had a Martin Christmas party at uncle Jace’s house. Then we drove back to Lincoln. In Lincoln it finally snowed and I had fun playing in the snow with Dad, Nathan and Alyssa. Dad pulled us around on the tube. I got to play in the snow twice this month.
I had my 3 year checkup and I am now 34 7/8 in tall and I weigh 28.6 lbs At my check up I had to have two shots I didn’t like them. When we say the prayer both Nathan and I have to say it so we have two prayers for meals and bedtime. But I like to say long prayers and make sure that I bless everything and so when my parents try to help me close my prayer I tell them not yet and then I tell them what we missed until I am satisfied with the prayer.
One night this month I woke up in the middle of the night and yelled, “MOM, DAD, NATHAN, ALYSSA I’M BACK!” The next morning my mom asked me where I had gone but I couldn’t remember.
I don’t like being small and sometimes when I wake up I am sad and I tell my mom that I am sad because I am not “bigger” I am still “small”. But one day I sat on my old tricycle and I told my mom that my butt was bigger, I was excited. My hands are now mice, I named my right hand Tu and my left hand Tu and together they are Tu-Tu. And when I do something wrong I tell my mom that I didn’t do it the mice did. I also don’t like to have tears in my eyes and after I get done crying I wipe away my tears and when I can’t get them all I tell my mom “I can’t get the crying away”. I’m also getting really good at building things out of the little legos. I like to build cars the best.
