Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
My Mom and Dad bought a new van this month. I helped them pick it out at the LE auto centre. I traveled with my family in our new van to LaJara to attend Brandon and Chera’s wedding reception. I had fun running around and playing with Cade and David. In the middle of this month I said goodbye to my house in Lincoln and drove with my Family to Denver. My Mom dropped my Dad off and then we picked up Aunt Stephanie and drove to LaJara. On the way there one of the back tires on the van blew out so my mom pulled over and waited for somebody to stop and help us. I had to sit on the side of the road on top of the cooler because the red ants kept trying to bite me. It was hot and I didn’t like it.
When we finally made it to LaJara, I got to ride on Grandma’s float that she built. I sat up front and danced and beat on the drum. I told my Mom when she put me on the float that I wanted to throw candy to David but Grandma didn’t have any. But as I came by David somehow I had gotten candy and I threw it to David. Then we went and watched motorcycles race and jump but I had more fun playing with the umbrella than I did watching the motorcycles. Then that night I got to watch fireworks. While I was in LaJara I also got to ride one of Grandpa’s horses.
My Mom and Dad left David, Alyssa, and me with Grandma and Grandpa in LaJara while they went back to Lincoln and packed up all of our stuff and took it to Green River. While they were gone Grandma Kaye took us to the McGinnis family reunion. While everybody was sitting around talking I came into their circle and said, “Attention everybody I have an important announcement, my bakery is open and serving crabby patties.” Then later I came back and told everybody, “I have bad news the bakery is now closed.”

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I traveled to Utah with Mom and Dad. We went to Joe’s Valley where I got to go fishing with Grandpa. I caught a fish and then I ate it for dinner. I told all of my friends when I got back to Nebraska all about it. While I was in Utah I also got to see my Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Dwight when they were on their way home from Yellowstone.
When we were back in Nebraska I went to the Blue Ribbon Fair at Pioneers Park with my family. I got to play lots of fun games and get prizes. I really liked the cake walk when they finally called my number. It took a few times for my number to get called so I told them to call my number next, but it still didn’t get called for a while. That same day I also got to go to the Campbell’s Nursery with the Bryan LGH kids club. They gave me a trowel and spade and the people at the nursery let me plant lots of plants in a pot and take them home. Then we got a tour of the nursery. I asked the lady lots of questions, but they didn’t always pertain to what the lady was talking about so she was starting to get annoyed with me.

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
Dad graduated from law school this month. I got to watch him walk at graduation. Grandma Kaye, Grandpa Dwight, Uncle Jace and Aunt Mandi came out to watch him walk and visit me. My Aunt Mandi brought me a baseball glove and a baseball. After they left, I watched the show “Everyone’s Hero” that had a talking baseball. I drew a face on my baseball to match the movie.
We got to ride our bikes a lot this month. We also go on picnics at the park. We have a special picnic spot where we eat and then Mom and Dad let us ride our bikes around on the tennis court while they sit on the blanket and watch us. We also get to play soccer and on the playground when we are at the park. One day we laid on the blankets with Mom and looked up at the clouds and saw funny shapes. I, of course, saw Mickey.
I had my checkup for Kindergarten. It was fun. I now weigh 40 lbs, and I am 42 ¾ in. tall. I had to have 4 shots at my checkup, they made me cry. The doctor also tested my eyes and my ears and I passed on both. After the checkup the doctor gave me a t-shirt and sent me to a room where they had games and snacks for us.
I had to go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned this month. I had two cavities so I had to go back. I told my dad that I would hold still if he would hold me because I didn’t want to be strapped down. So while I had my cavities filled my Dad held me down. The dentist gave me a soccer toothbrush.
It was warm enough one day to get out the Slip ‘n Slide and the pool. Dad slid me on my bottom and belly down the Slip ‘n Slide and I cried. But I did have fun sliding down the slide into the pool.
I got to go to my friend AJ Burns’s cowboy party. It was fun we roasted hot dogs and hit a horse piñata.

April 2007

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
On the 2nd of this month, Grandpa drove us all back to Green River. Daddy had to stay in Lincoln because he still had school. While we were driving, we saw a big cloud in front of us that looked scary. We weren’t sure which way the clouds were blowing. When we got under it, we felt like it was going to blow us off the road because the winds were so strong. A lot of cars pulled over but we kept going. We even saw two trucks that had been blown off the road and onto their sides. We were just glad it wasn’t us.
When we got back to Utah we went to Joes Valley where we met Hunter and Joseph. I had fun playing in the mountains and driving the little push cars down the dirt road. Uncle Jeremy built us a fire and we had tinfoil dinners and roasted giant marshmallows that Great Grandma Luke gave us. The next day, we drove to Salt Lake and celebrated Grandpa Luke’s birthday in a park. Grandpa took us to play on a Frisbee golf course. While we were playing, the Easter Bunny hid some eggs for us to find. We had fun finding them.
The next weekend I got to go to Salt Lake again and play with Hunter and Joseph again. After playing with them, Grandpa drove us to Park City where we stayed at the Miners Inn. It was a fancy motel and I got to go swimming while I was there. I loved it and didn’t want to get out. Grandma tried to teach me how to swim and showed me how to blow bubbles in the water, but I wouldn’t let go of her or Mom long enough to swim by myself. While we were staying in the Miners Inn, we took a trip to Wal-mart. I was with Grandma and Grandpa in the store. When we got back to the hotel, I showed my Mom a Mickey pen. She realized that I stole it, so Grandma took me back into Wal-mart where I had to return it. I was sad because I really wanted it. I told my Grandma that I had dreamt about it. She told me that I had to have money to buy what I wanted and I couldn’t just steal it. I told her that next time, I would dream about money. A few days later we went back to Hunter and Joseph’s house. While I was there, I got sick and threw up.
On Amy’s wedding day I got to see the Salt Lake Temple where I waited outside for Amy to get married. Amy bought me a green shirt and tie to wear with some dress pants. While I waited I had fun running around and playing with Hunter and Joseph. I also saw a celebrity, Donny Osmond, who was there waiting for somebody he knew to come out of the temple. At Amy’s wedding luncheon, I got sick again and I threw up in front of everybody. At Amy’s reception, I spent the whole time in the room next to the kitchen so that my Mom could help me when I threw up again since she was working in the kitchen. I threw up many more times that night
On the Monday after Amy’s wedding, I rode the train with Mom, Nathan, and Alyssa back to Lincoln. It was a longer trip than usual because the train signals had problems along the way and we ran in to bad weather in Nebraska. During our ride, I told a man that he had bad teeth. He was missing several teeth and the rest of the teeth that he did have were brown. We finally made it back where Daddy was waiting to see us.

March 2007

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I went to my Uncle Brandon’s missionary homecoming in La Jara this month. I had fun visiting my Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Dwight and playing with my cousins. My Dad drove us to Grand Junction where my Grandma and Grandpa Luke picked us up and took us to Green River. Dad had to stay in Grand Junction for job interviews before driving back to Lincoln. While in Utah, I saw the Manti Temple and waited outside for my Uncle Jason to get married to Larissa. Then I went to Orangeville to their reception.
While in Green River Grandpa took us golfing I had fun hitting the ball. I am getting better at it.
At the end of this month Grandma and Grandpa Luke drove us to Lincoln to visit Daddy and to take some of our stuff back to Green River so that we would have it closer to where we want to move. While Grandma and Grandpa were in Lincoln, everybody but Grandpa went to the Children’s Museum. I had fun playing in the museum with David and Alyssa. We also had an early Easter with Dad in Lincoln. I had fun finding all of the eggs. The Easter Bunny also brought me a Nemo game for my Leapster.
I really like to draw pictures and my Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa tell me that I am really good at it. I especially like to draw Mickey Mouse and I make sure that I get all of his details including his buttons on his shorts.

January 2007

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
For the start of 2007 I was in Green River, Utah at my Grandma and Grandpa Luke’s house. We had a party with my cousins. Then we went up to Salt Lake where my Aunt Hillary babysat me while my Mom and Dad went to the temple with Grandma and Grandpa Luke, Amy, Brooks, Jeremy, Adam, Nadine, Rebecca, Justin, and Jason.
Then we drove back to Denver where we had a Martin Christmas party at uncle Jace’s house. Then we drove back to Lincoln. In Lincoln it finally snowed and I had fun playing in the snow with Dad, David, and Alyssa. Dad pulled us around on the snow tube. I crashed a few times on it. I got to play in the snow twice this month.
I changed my name again it is now Pluto. And I carry my Mickey stuffed animal around with me while I’m at home. I also named my hands. My hands are now mice, my right hand is Gus and my left hand is Jack and I call them Gus-Gus and Jack-Jack. And when I hit my brother or do something wrong I tell my mom that the mice did it.
